- Thoroughly read the passage. Grasp the main theme of the passage and use the words that suit the theme appropriately.
- Make up your mind about what all words could be possible missing to fill the blank space. Think with the appropriate word that can fit in the context while reading slowly.
- Articles are often easier to identify. Try to fill the articles first so that you can save time to think about strenuous words.
- You can often find blanks that can have more than one suitable answer. For these types of blanks, the shortcut is to try all the suitable words by putting them in the sentence and then filtering them one by one thus eliminating words that do not fit rightly.
- Linking the options with the words that precede and secede the blank to form a complete sentence is handy.
- Find the keywords in the passage that revolve around the main theme to give you an idea about the required words to fit.
- Know your grammar well. A blank can be filled with any word ranging from a noun, preposition, adjective, verb, conjunction and other parts of speech. Hence, knowing the difference between all is good.
