Interview Experience

- Name: Sai Pranav
- Course: B. Tech
- Branch: ECE
- Type of Interview: On-Campus Interview
Student Experience
I recently applied for the HCL firm through PrepInsta. PrepInsta's Instagram introduced me to HCL Drive. I have prepared all these rounds from Prepinsta. They had prior year's questions and answers, which helped me get through the first round.
- Round 1: Aptitude
The aptitude round is the first round of HCL. This round contains 4 sections. They are:
- English Ability - 15 questions - 15 min
- Reasoning Ability - 15 questions - 15 min
- Quantitative Ability - 15 questions - 15 min
- Computer Fundamentals - 30 questions - 30 min
- Coding - 2 question - 20 min
The first round was not that easy, It needed more practice to score the required cut-off. I was extremely optimistic that I would be chosen for the next stage because I have practiced numerous questions from the PrepInsta mock exams and gave my best for the exam.
- Round 2: Technical Round
was chosen for the second round. This round consists entirely of technical questions. The interviewer centered his queries on my CV. My advice is to highlight the talents in which you are confident. The interviewer introduced himself and then proceeded to ask the following questions:
- Introduce yourself.
- Tell me about your projects.
- What is a diode and its types and applications?
- What is the precision rectifier?
- Differentiate between Thevenin and Norton Theorem.
- Tell me real-time examples for singly-linked lists, and doubly-linked lists.
- What is your favorite programming language?
- Write a program for palindromes.
Because I had a background in ECE, the interviewer inquired about my primary field. I confidently answered all of the questions.
- Round 3: HR Round
After three days, I received an email inviting me to an HR interview. The interviewer began by introducing herself and asked for my name. Then she asked the following questions:
- Why should we hire you?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Have you led any team efficiently?
- Can you work night shifts?
- Are you willing to relocate?
Furthermore, the interviewer was putting my core knowledge and communication abilities to the test. I answered all of the questions politely, clearly, and confidently. This also helped me pass this round. A week later, I received an email from the employer informing me that I had been chosen for the job. As a result, my interview concluded in a positive tone.
