TCS Aptitude Interview Experience

- Name: Ayush
- College: National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli
- Branch: Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Type of interview: ON-campus Interview
Student Interview
I was very excited when I came to know that TCS is coming to our campus this year for the on-campus recruitment drive. Our TPO instructed us the steps to register for the interview and provided us the necessary information about the company’s eligibility criteria and rounds. I started my preparation for the drive-through practice papers available on PrepInsta and referred several competitive books as well.
The eligibility criteria of the company:
- Qualifications: Full-time graduate from the science field
- %Criteria: 60% marks throughout academics
- Backlogs: 1 active backlog accepted but it had to cleared before joining
- 2 years academic gap is permissible
Written Test
Test was divided into parts i.e Foundation and Advanced Test.
Foundation Test was divided into 4 rounds: Traits, Numerical Ability, Logical Ability, Verbal Ability and time was 75 mins and Advanced Test was divided into 3 rounds: Advanced Aptitude, Logical and Coding and time allotted was 90 mins.
Technical Interview
This round was basically to check the logical think of the candidate and how much does the candidate know about the basic of his/her subject, any language, data structures, and algorithm. The round was divided into two different interviews. First was the TCS Ninja, and another was TCS Digital. In TCS Ninja they asked me about Cut-off frequency, Op-amp and java related question like does java can do multiple inheritances and some more logical questions.
In the second interview, I was asked about my last semester project. Then the interviewer asked me some more questions; they were:
- Sort large files using small memory?
- Explain Ionospheric bending?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of CDMA?
It was a very difficult and tricky round. With much difficulty, I answered the questions, but the interviewer was impressed by my explanations. I was then sent to another room for the next round.
HR Interview
The HR interview round was the last round in the process. I was sure that I would be selected because very few students qualified for the final round. I entered the room, and the HR welcomed me with a smile. He asked me general questions on:
- Tell me about yourself?
- Where do you see yourself after five years?
- What is your long term goal?
- How much CTC are you expecting?
After the HR round, the candidates were sent back, and results were announced after 2 weeks, and after seeing my name in the selected candidate's list, I was very happy.
Note: I sat for TCS NQT test and then I was called for Digital Interview.

It is very helpful for freshers.thank you for ur such a good information
In ques. 5,
The answer would be 6 not 8.
Let the money to be paid = 30 rupees.
So, George daily wage = 30/15 = 2
and Mark daily wage = 30/10 = 3.
If both are working,
then 5 rupees to be paid.
So given sum is sufficient for 30 / 5 = 6 days.
It is very much helpful for interview preparation.
