Why: “Do you have any medical issues” is asked?

The purpose of asking this question is simply to see whether the candidate has any medical condition that in the future can lead to them not being able to work. This is an important question and a tricky one at that. A candidate with a concerning medical condition, might not be able to give their best performance. Similarly, HR or management might give lesser opportunities (promotion, business trips, etc) to an employee with health issues.

How to answer: “Do you have any medical issues?”

Although this sounds like a simple question, you need to answer it carefully. Serious medical conditions refer to heart diseases, lung problems, basically any condition for which you need to visit doctors regularly, and might have restrictions on travel. It has not really affected my performance in previous jobs, and the condition is mostly under control.

Answer 3:

Not really a serious condition, but I do have certain allergies. Like I am allergic to nuts and garlic. So it is difficult for me to eat certain foods. And I have to carry some medicines with me. But this has never affected my work or job before.
