Let John Abraham’s present age be x

John Abraham’s age before 5 years = (x - 5)

John Abraham’s age after 10 years = (x + 10)

We are given that, John Abraham’s age after 10 years (x + 10) is 5 times his age 5 years back (x – 5)

Therefore,

(x + 10) = 5 (x – 5)

Solving the equation, we get

x + 10 = 5x – 25

4x = 35

x = 8.75 years 

given that age ratio of Harry Potter : Helen McCrory= 5 : 6

Harry Potter’s age = 5x and Helen McCrory’s age = 6x

One year ago, their age was 5x and 6x. Hence at present, Harry Potter’s age = 5x +1 and Helen McCrory’s age = 6x +1

After 4 years,

Harry Potter’s age = (5x +1) + 4 = (5x + 5)

Helen McCrory’s age = (6x +1) + 4 = (6x + 5)

After 4 years, this ratio becomes 6 : 7. Therefore, 

 

\frac{Harry's Age}{6}:\frac{Helen’s}{7}

 

\frac{(5x + 5) }{ (6x + 5)} = \frac{6}{7}

7 (5x + 5) = 6 (6x + 5)

X = 5

Helen McCrory’s present age = (6x + 1) = (6 \times 5 + 1) = 31 years

Harry Potter’s present age = (5x + 1) = (5 \times 5 + 1) = 26 years 

Let the ratio of their ages is 4:6 after x years.

At present: Bing Crosby is 60 years and Ray Milland is 80 years

x years ago: Bing Crosby’s age = (60 – x) and Ray Milland’s age = (80 – x)

Ratio of their ages x years ago was 4 : 6

 

\frac{60-x}{40-x}=\frac{4}{6}

 

6(60 – x) = 4(80 – x)

360 – 6x = 320 – 4x

x = 20

Therefore, 20 years ago, the ratio of their ages was 4 : 6

6 years ago, the ratio of the ages of Ronald Colman and Broderick Crawford= 7: 6 (7x, 6x=let)

According to the question,

7x = 28

x = 4

Broderick Crawford’s present age = 6x + 6 = 30

Required ratio = 30: 15 = 2: 1

17 years back, the ratio of age of  Paul Lukas and Robert Donat= 3 : 1

 Paul Lukas’s present age = 45 – 10 = 35

17 yrs back,  Paul Lukas’s age = 18

3’s = 18

1’s = 6

Now Robert Donat age = 6 + 17 =23 years

Solution:

Let present age of Paul Muni be x and his brother be 4x

According to question,

x + \frac{5}{4}x+5= \frac{2}{5}

5x+ 25= 8x +10

3x= 15

x= 5

Total age of Paul Muni, Paul Muni’s brother and their mother= 20\times 3= 60 years

So, age of Paul Muni’s mother= 60- (5 + 5\times 4) = 35 years

Ratio of the ages of Charles Laughton and Wallace Beery= 7 : y

Charles Laughton = Kate Beckinsale– 12

After 9 years, Kate Beckinsale= 42

Present age of Kate Beckinsale= 42 – 9 = 33 years

Present age of Charles Laughton=33 – 12 = 21

According to the question,

Charles Laughton– Prem = Kate Beckinsale– Charles Laughton

21 – Wallace Beery= 33 – 21

Wallace Beery= 9

Present age of Wallace Beery= 9 years

\frac{7}{y} = \frac{21}{9}

According to the first condition

A + N = 9 (A – N)

N + 9N = 9A – A

10N = 8 A

The ratio of present age of A : N = 5 : 4

According to second condition

(5x + 6) + (4x + 6) = 12(5x – 4x)

9x + 12 = 12x

3x = 12

According to the question,

= > x + x – 5 + \frac{x}{9} + 3 + \frac{x}{9} = 78

= > 2x +\frac{2x}{9} = 80

= > 20x = 720

= > x = 36

 James Coburn= 36 years

Zooey Deschanel = \frac{James Coburn}{9} + 3 = \frac{36}{9} +3 = 7 years

The ratio of present age of Milla Jovovich and Selena Gomez = 3 : 5

Milla Jovovich = Michelle Williams– 7

After 8 years, Michelle Williams’s age = 30

Present age of Michelle Williams= 22

Nivetha = 22 – 7 = 15

3’s = 15

1’s = 5

Present age of Selena Gomez = 5’s = 25 years
