Narrate the life habit in you

Anything that is done regularly or repeatedly becomes a habit. Every one of us has several habits and knowingly or unknowingly we do follow our habit. Habits can be good and bad. Waking up early, being punctual, gambling, swearing, etc, everything is a habit. There is a saying that bad habits are easy to cultivate than the good ones and I strongly agree with this. Bad habits seem fun and interesting at the start but usually create problems in a long term.

I inculcated a habit of staying up late at night. I used to play games with my friends, binge watch series/movies, etc. It was fun and nice in the starting but because of this routine, my whole day was wasted in sleeping. I didn’t get time to complete my other work and also my eating schedule was ruined. I used to miss my breakfast and lunch and staying up late made me hungry because of which I gained a lot of weight too.

But soon I realized that this is just creating trouble for me. And then I decided to switch my routine and made my way back to a healthy lifestyle. Then I started sleeping early and waking up early. Now, I exercise regularly, have all my meals on time, and get the whole day to be productive and spend time with my loved ones.

A healthy lifestyle has many benefits not only for the body but for the mind too. Also, if you follow a healthy lifestyle then you can reduce the risk of having cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and many such diseases. Overall, healthily living your life only has benefits, and that’s why it is recommended that you do everything you can to have a healthy lifestyle. So, eat three nutritional meals a day, avoid unhealthy junk food, go for a run or jog in the morning, get your full 8 hours of sleep, and avoid bad habits like drugs, alcohol, and smoking. A healthy lifestyle is the best thing that you can do to your body, and you will be thanking yourself for following a healthy lifestyle in the later years of your life.

Child Labour

It is common in our country to see young children selling goods on pavements, markets, traffic signals, etc. Some of them are not even 10 years old and it hurts to see such young children trying their best to sell the goods. This is not a case for one nation but this is a problem everywhere.
Child labour is any kind of work that harms or exploits the children mentally, emotionally, or physically. Although all the works can not be exploitive but can be beneficial for the overall growth of children like taking up some light jobs in vacations, etc.

The primary reasons for increasing child labor are poverty and unemployment. Elder ones in the family don’t get the job and so the children in the family have to work and earn.  Poor parents give birth thinking tier children will earn for them. They carry their infants with them to get more money. Also one of the major issues is access to education. Although many government schools and universities have been set up the quality and maintenance are not being taken care of. So, most of the parents just prefer to send their kids to work.

If we wish to eradicate this, we need some serious and very effective solutions. The first and most important is to make parents aware of the importance of education. They should be made aware of the problems their children face in factories or industries. They should be made aware of the side effects on their children’s health by performing those dangerous jobs. And anyway if we will be able to educate more parents, the more number of children will be educated. The government should have strict laws against the parents who make their children work and also for the people who give jobs to these children. In short, the government and people have to come together to solve this major issue.

Children and youth are the future of our country. This is the responsibility of every adult citizen to take steps to solve this huge social obstacle on an instant basis and the children should not be used in negative ways. They should get a proper chance to evolve and grow within a happy atmosphere of school and family.

Feminism

Most people have the wrong idea about feminism. They think that being anti-men is feminism and recently I have heard someone say You are wearing pink, are you a feminist? to a man. All of these myths have made it difficult for people to understand that feminism means equal rights for men and women. Feminism stands for injustice and inequality in the opportunities provided based on gender. Feminism stands for challenges like domestic violence, rape, and sexual assaults, unequal pay, sexual objectification, etc.

A feminist role in society is to actively recognize the need for, and work towards creating equality for all women. Feminism is purely a movement that intends to enlighten people to improve gender equality and strengthen women’s status in society. And not only women but also the men who are anxious about the state of women can be feminists too.

The movements for women by feminist activists have come a long way. For example, you can see the ‘sati system’ in which the wives were burned alive if their husband died and now we have movements against marital rapes isn’t this progress.
Feminist movements started in the US & the UK for the right to own property, then shifted to political rights, and now we can see the movements for maternity leave and equal rights in marriage.
We recently saw, Mee Too Movement which was a big highlight in the past years which also a campaign against sexual harassment, and that was brought in to highlight through social media and we saw many women have faced it and still none of them spoke about it.
The feminist movements have also campaigned for the protection of the girl-child and women from sexual harassment, rape, and violence within the home.

Women have had many breakthroughs and have always fought for their rights and achieved most of them but still, there are many indiscrimination and social issues. Men are still more respected and highly paid for doing the same job. However, the new generation is taking these movements by storm and now men have also started supporting women in their fight. The problem of women’s rights is not going away anytime soon, but its growing popularity gives hope to all those fighting for equality.

Education

Education plays a very vital role in shaping a person’s future. It allows us to become a productive member of a civilized society. Education expands our vision and creates awareness. It enhances our knowledge, develops confidence, and helps to discover our skills. Education plays a significant role in the life of an individual, be it personal or professional. Education is an ever-lasting process that ends with death. It helps in the overall development of an individual as we can acquire knowledge, skills, and many other things through education. A person’s attitude and personality highly depend on his education.

In this era of technology, it is very difficult for uneducated people to understand and use technology effectively while on the other hand educated people know the various use of technology. Thus, education plays an important role in making us aware of the numerous gadgets and technologies to make our life a bit easier. Education serves us in all facets of life. It makes you mature and aware of the things happening around whether good or bad so that we can come up with the appropriate solution/decision.

An educated person face leads a prosperous life whereas an uneducated person had to struggle for everything like it is difficult for them to get employed and therefore lack all the necessities like food, hygiene, clothes, shelter, etc. Education is a prerequisite for everything we wish to do in our life, therefore every person needs to acquire basic education at least. If you need to get a good job or you want to set up your own business, you are supposed to know the particular domain. This is only possible if you have acquired education as it is the only means through which you can attain a vast amount of knowledge.

Education is a fundamental right and therefore everyone must acquire it if not up to a higher level but the primary and elementary education must be made compulsory for all. The government has set up schools in the ruler areas and have many policies to motivate and get more students to the school. Education is the true weapon of the modern world. Educated people are true, law-abiding, and sincere citizens. Therefore, it is a fact that without education an individual or nation can never climb over the ladder of success and glory. That’s why every sincere leader has had spoken for spreading education and awareness to every nook and corner of the country. Truly there is no progress, prosperity, and human dignity without education and awareness.

Narrate the recent journey in your learning process

The internet is perhaps the most wonderful and most helpful invention. The Internet has made everything very easy be it communication, shopping, traveling, or getting enrolled in a course. The Internet has made learning so easy for everyone. I almost use the internet daily to learn new things and recently I enrolled myself in the French-speaking course.

I have always been fond of learning languages and have wanted to learn French since childhood but never got the opportunity. And being from a small town, there were no such classes available and were not even taught in my school.
But this lockdown was a boon and I was finally able to make my childhood dream come true and learn French.

One day while scrolling through Instagram, I got to know about this amazing application named Duolingo which teaches you languages. And not only French, but it has so many languages.
It taught me everything from scratch and had so many quizzes for practice. And for every right answer you get points and for clearing every level you a crown. And there is a worldwide scoreboard too which motivated me to learn more and practice more. And the most important is that all this was free. You don’t have to pay anything and you still become a pro in any language.

Learning a new language is a difficult task as languages are made up of rule systems, structures, and a lot of words. Any foreign language learner is to manage this complexity, perceive the patterns, and learn a great number of new works. All these processes make the human brain actively operate, develop new learning skills, develop cognitive thinking, and problem-solving. All these skills are beneficial for personal and professional spheres.
And also learning foreign languages helps you to make new friends and meet some interesting people. It is becoming really common to find a fascinating social network where you can interact with other people coming from different countries.

Influence of Social Media on society

The media plays a significant role in people’s everyday lives. Whether through social sites, TV, radio, or cell phones. The influence is undeniable. These influences have caused a lot of controversies to arise. One belief is that the media has negatively impacted society. On the contrary, others feel it has had a positive effect, creating social integration that might not have occurred before mass media. Social media provides us an opportunity to connect with the world and be a part of an international community. Social media networking sites provide a platform where people can share their ideas and experience and everyone’s voice is heard here. Social media platforms are also used to raise voice against injustice and inequality.

The idea of creating your own character is what makes the online world different from the real world. You choose to be different and this difference is what affects us as people. Just like the authors create their fantasy world in their books, social media let us have our own world.
Social media has given us a platform to fight for what we face but this has also increased the cases of some major issues like cyberbullying, invasion of privacy, etc.
Spending extra time on the internet is also causing health issues in young generations. They are sleep deprived and then lazy/sleepy all day. The light emitted by the electronic devices is said to circadian rhythms delaying the sense of sleep.

On the other hand, the role of social media in business and consumer markets cannot be undermined. Social media is used by various brands to build communities for interaction and spreading awareness about their services. Every organization, be it big or small, has an online presence on various social media platforms. It also provides useful information about the behavior of customers to the organization on a regular basis. Without social media, social, environmental, political ills have come to the limelight and now the people have got a much wider view of the things happening around. Increased visibility of issues has shifted the balance of power from the hands of a few to the masses.

Social media has helped people grow and be aware of anything and everything happening around the globe but also has caused many issues. So, the impact of social media on society depends on how you see and use social media.

Politics

When we hear the term politics, we usually think of the government, politicians, and political parties. For any country to have an organized government and work and function as per the guidelines, we require a certain organization. Every country, group, and organization use politics to instrument various ways to organize their events, prospects, and more.

Politics in any country involves the ruling party and the opposition. Usually and ideally, political parties are formed based on the same line of thinking and ideology. Politics does not limit those in power in the government. It is also about the ones who are in the run to achieve the same power. The candidates of the opposition party question the party in power during political debates. They intend to inform people and make them aware of their agenda and what the present government is doing. All this is done with the help of politics only.

Politicians choose their parties not because they believe in the ideologies, but because they want to win and have the power. The ideologies and promises are just sugar coats to get the votes and are never fulfilled. Political parties in India follow the divide and rule. They divide the people based on religion or caste to get the votes.
Good politics consists of the government and its opposition, both working for the development of the country. The opposition parties questions, criticize and demands accountability from the ruling party so that the ruling regime is kept in check. The system works fine in its idealistic form. But political parties, with their greed for power, forget their true responsibilities and indulge in dirty games to grab power at any cost. That cost is borne by the common man of the country.

Some of the prominent instances that defined and changed Indian politics are the 1975 Emergency, India- Bangladesh war, Ayodhya Ram janmabhoomi, 26/11 terror attacks, 2014 general elections, etc. As it’s right called, politics in India is a colorful game, with both good and bad things happening simultaneously. Right from Jawaharlal Nehru to Morarjee Desai and Manmohan Singh to Narendra Modi, India has seen its political maturity evolve over time and hopefully, this progress is in the greater interest of the development of India.

Technology boon or bane for today’s generation

Human beings are lazy and would love if someone would do their work and technology has done that. Over the years, we have stopped writing emails, letters, etc. We don’t remember people’s phone numbers and depend on our phones to keep it for us. We do not remember birthdays and depend upon Facebook to send us a reminder. On the other hand, technology has also contributed to significant improvements in areas of medicine, communication, travel, human living, education. It has also contributed to global warming, nuclear stockpiles, mechanization of human life.

The youth are the biggest victim of technology as they are desperate to be connected and be popular. Being left alone is just not acceptable to them. This leads to a constant feeling of being online and gradually it becomes an addiction that they can’t resist.
Teenagers wait for validation and acceptance from their peers, they need likes and comments to feel good about themselves. This pattern leads to addiction. Technology is a boon until and unless it is our slave.

Technology has done some wonders too. Cashless transactions, paperless functioning, rapid change in marketing strategies, from offline to online shopping technology has made everything easy. Sitting in our homes, we get to know everything that is happening around the globe. We can connect to anyone internationally and can communicate just through touch.

Technology has combined innovation with tension. Technology is like a matchstick. A matchstick, when used to light up a lamp, is beneficial but when the same matchstick is used to burn someone’s house it is harmful. Matchstick by itself is not a problem but when it is someone’s hand it depends on the person how to use it. Technological innovations and development are always welcomed to modern society but there are always two sides to a coin. Roads are broad but there may be a pothole at some point. Traffic may be smooth but accidents do take place. So, a boon or bane depends upon you.

Future of Earth

The basic need of human beings has been easily fulfilled by Earth for billions of years. But, with the rise of industrialism, we humans have become greedier and reckless. We have been mercilessly devastating the Earth’s resources without giving anything back to it. The basic principle of life processes on Earth functions on the concept of harmony. Humans have exploited every facet of the richness of the land, water, biodiversity, and sources of energy. The human population itself has become the biggest question mark for the future.

The scales have been set. The balance has been tipped in favor of the mass destruction of our planet. The Earth is choking with toxic fumes, water bodies have been concentrated with plastic and debris instead of marine life. The fact as of now, there are more plastic bags in our oceans than there are fishes. The population-resource imbalance is enormously unfavorable for the sustenance of humanity. The basic survival needs of food, water, shelter, are all in crisis due to our growing number.

Global warming is one of the major issues we will be facing and it could affect different parts of the world in different ways. There could be long periods of low rainfall in a particular region. The Western United States is one of the areas particularly at risk of widespread drought.
Another thing could be the rise in sea level. Over the centuries, the sea levels will rise and may cause extensive damage. The major coastline cities might be underwater.
The growing number of vehicles has added more toxic layers, choking the atmosphere. The increasing pollution index is making it difficult for us to breathe. There are many more issues like overfishing, plastic pollution, wildlife trading, etc.
One thing which I think will be coming up and having a boom is vertical farming.

The situation is critical, and the next few years will determine how far we will go as a civilization. With modern environmental crises becoming a natural affair, it is difficult to imagine what might happen in the next few years. We cannot change our past, but we can alter our future through our present-day actions.
‘A beautiful waterfall, a majestic tiger, lush green farms of paddy, and cool breeze of spring’ should remain an experience for generations to come and not reduced to pages from history. The mission has begun. The future beckons our sense of responsibility and we must stand and work for it.

However, India is the oldest civilization where people still follow their old cultures of caring and humanity. Even though people became modern in today’s world, still they celebrate festivals as per the customs.

Indian Religion has a great impact on shaping the culture and traditions of India. India has several religions that originated five thousand years ago. Hinduism originated from Vedas, so all Hindu scriptures have been scripted in the Sanskrit language. People believe that Jainism has an ancient origin and exists in the Indus valley. Whereas another religion, Buddhism originated through the teachings of Gautam Buddha in the country. Various eras came and gone but have not changed the influence of real culture. That is why the younger generations still follow the older generation’s culture.

People believe and follow various customs and traditions according to their own religions. We celebrate our festivals according to our own rituals, keep fast, take bath in the holy water of Gange, worship and pray to God, sing ritual songs, dance, eat delicious dinner, wear colorful dresses and other lots of activities. We also celebrate some National festivals by getting together such as Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, including various social events. People of different religions celebrate their festivals in various parts of the country with great zeal and enthusiasm without interfering with each other.

India is a land of rich culture and tradition which teaches people kindness, generosity, and tolerance. Indian culture differs from place to place as it is a multilingual, multicultural, and multi-ethnic society. Indian culture is a unique blend of modern western culture and historical traditions. India is a country of great legends where many great people were born and remembered forever due to their sacrifice for the nation.
