HackerRank Backtracking Quiz-1

Backtracking is a technique based on an algorithm to solve the problem. It uses recursive calling to find the solution by building a solution step by step increasing values with time. It removes the solutions that don’t give rise to the solution of the problem based on the constraints given to solve the problem.

Using a backtracking algorithm, when we find a final solution, we either stop or start to search for other alternative solutions. 

The backtracking method is adopted by building a tree of choices termed as a State-space tree and Its root is an initial state before the search for a solution starts.

All of the above solutions provide an optimal solution to the problem of 8-queens.

8-queen problems have 92 possible solutions.

We should opt for backtracking methods as it is the fastest method when compared to the others

Depth-first search is a State-space tree constructed for a backtracking algorithm.

A node is said to be Promising if it has the possibility of a complete solution being reached
