33.33
Let initially there were 100 labour and total work load was 100 units, so each labours work=1 unit. When there are 33.33% or \frac{100}{3}% more labour, Total laborers=100 + \frac{100}{3} = \frac{400}{3} As \frac{400}{3}% labours has to complete the same work of 100 units So each labours work = \frac{Work}{No. of Labourers^new} = \frac{100}{400/3} = \frac{3}{4} unit. Hence % reduction in the work load of each labour = (1 - \frac{3}{4} )*100 = \frac{100}{4} = 25% Video solution:

Rs. 6000 Y=4Z ---(i) and 2X=3Y =>Y= 2X/3 ---(ii) To get the ratio of X, Y, Z we can represent Y and Z in terms of X. From (i) & (ii), 2X/3 = 4Z => Z=X/6 So X : Y : Z = X : 2X/3 : X/6 = 6 : 4 : 1 So Y\'s share in Rs. 16500 = (4/11)*16500 =Rs. 6000 Video solution:

Let the total vote is x. Then 30% of x = \frac{30}{100} * x = 1200 x = \frac{(1200*100)}{30} Thus, total votes i.e. x = 4000; Now, 30% of votes already given. So other 70% of x votes = \frac{70}{100} *4000 = 2800 votes. Now Chauncy needs additional votes = (70 - 30)%=40% votes. So 40% votes of x = \frac{40}{100} *4000 = 1600; That is Chauncy needs 1600 more votes to win Now he have needed only % of remaining votes needed by Chauncy = \frac{Additional Votes Needed}{Total Votes Remaining} *100 \frac{1600}{2800} *100 =57.14285714% Video solution:
Question 7
Ajith sells a table to Ajay at 10% profit and Ajay sells it to Anoob at 10% loss. At what price did Ajith purchase the table if Anoob paid Rs.2178?
Rs.2100
Rs.2150
Rs.2200
Rs.2250
Let the cost price of table for Ajith be Rs.x and given that, cost price of table for Anoob = Rs.2178 90% of 110% of x = Rs.2178 (90/100) (110/100) x = 2178 x = (2178*100)/9 *11 x = Rs.2200
Question 8
Fresh fruit contains 68% water and dry fruit contains 20% water How much dry fruit can be obtained from 100 kg of fresh fruits?
43 kg
40 kg
42 kg
41 kg
Way 1 This type of sum can be easily done with the help of ratio, no big calculations are required. and if you force your brain it can be done orally. lets try it. Fresh Fruit = Water: solid = 68:32 = 17:8 ;(17 + 8=25) Dry Fruit = water : solid = 20:80 = 5:20 ;(5 + 20=25) Now you can see clearly If you have 100 Kg of fresh fruit. it means you have 8 × 4 = 32 kg of the solid part. and in each 25 kg of dry fruit, we have 20 kg of the solid part of the fruit. So 32 Kg solid fruit part from the fresh fruit will produce {(25÷20)×32}=40 kg of Dry fruits. So we will get 40 Kg of dry fruits from 100 kg of fresh fruits.

PARTY 2 & 3 GOT 12 AND 43% RESPECTIVELY=55% AS A WHOLE. SO 55% OF 16000=8800. AND PARTY 1 GOT 45% VOTE=45%OF 16000=7200. MARGIN OF VOTES = 8800-7200=1600 IS THE ANSWER Video solution:
Question 10
The percentage increase in the number of pens sold by a trader from Tuesday to Wednesday is same as the percentage decrease in the number of pens sold from Monday to Tuesday. On Wednesday the trader sold 16 pens more than those he sold on Tuesday. If the percentage decrease in sales from Monday to Tuesday is 20%, how many pens did he sell on Tuesday ?
20
96
100
80
Let number of pens sold on tuesday be x given that the percentage increase in the number of pens sold by a trader from Tuesday to Wednesday is same as the percentage decrease in the number of pens sold from Monday to Tuesday so percentage increase in sales of pen from tuesday to wednesday=percentage decrease in sales from monday to tuesday=20% then on wednesday trader sold 16 more pens than those sold on tuesday so number of pens sold on wednesday=x+16 and this is 20% more than number of pens sold on tuesday so [1+(20/100)]*x=x+16 6x/5=x+16 x=80 so number of pens sold on tuesday =x=80
