How many Runners are there in School?

The puzzle is based on a situation where we have to find that how many runners are there in School? Premise, rule, and Objective are as follows:-

Premise – Vinesh is the $50^{th}$ fastest and the $50^{th}$ slowest runner in the school.

Rule – Assuming no two runners are the same speed.

Objective – How many runners are in Vinesh’s school?

Solution to the Number of Runner in the School

The solution to the given puzzle is quite simple and straight. It can be predicted through the given premise only. So the premise is -” Vinesh is the $50^{th}$ fastest and the $50^{th}$ slowest runner in the school.”

Therefore, If Vinesh is the $50^{th}$ fastest runner, he would be number $50^{th}$ in the sequence of numbers from 1, 2, …., 50. To be the $50^{th}$ slowest, he would have to be number 50 in the number sequence of 50, 51, 52, …, 99. Since there are fifty numbers from 50 to 99 inclusive.

Hence, there are 99 runners in Vinesh’s school.
