Premise:
- Jack lives on the 12th floor of a building.
- He uses the elevator to go down the building for his work.
- When he returns he takes the elevator to the 7th floor and from there he takes the stairs, but on rainy days he takes the elevator up to the 12th floor.
Question:
- If Jack hates walking, why does he climbs 5 flight of stairs on non-rainy days?
Solution: Man in the elevator
The most probable reason for this could be that Jack is a man of short height.
Proof:-
- In the question it is mentioned that on rainy days he takes the elevator all the way to 12th floor, while he does not on non-rainy days.
- The reason behind this could be that Jack is unable to reach the button for 12th floor on the elevator panel. He can only reach up to the 7th floor button
- On rainy days though Jack probably carriers an umbrella with him, and with that he can press the 12th floor button.
- While in the morning, he can easily press the ground floor button and go down the building.
