Competition Structure
The Flipkart GRiD competition has four progressive rounds, each qualifying students for the next stage:
- Screening Round: Initial shortlisting based on academic profile. Flipkart reviews your grades, projects, and achievements to pick candidates for the next round.
- There is no coding test in this round.
- Coding Round: Online programming test (proctored, 90 minutes). Typically there are 3 coding questions covering data structures and algorithms (arrays, strings, graphs, etc.).
- Common languages allowed include C, C++, Java, and Python.
- You solve all problems on a platform; meeting the score cutoff moves you forward.
- Case Study Round: Each participant gets a real-world problem statement from Flipkart (often related to e-commerce or tech).
- You must design a solution or prototype and submit working code (and sometimes a short demo video or report).
- The solutions are judged on technical soundness and understanding of the business context.
- Top performers in this round typically earn internship/job interviews or advancement to finals.
- National Finals (On-site): The best ~48 individuals (often grouped into teams of 4) travel to Flipkart’s Bengaluru office.
- Here you present a working prototype or detailed solution to a panel of Flipkart leaders.
- Finalists compete in teamwork challenges and demos; the top 6 teams win the big prizes and full recognition.
- Flipkart covers travel and accommodation for finalists.
