Flipkart GRiD is an annual engineering hackathon organized by Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce company. The competition is open to students from all over the world who are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.

 GRiD is a multi-round competition that tests participant’s technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

Round 3: Case Study-Based Coding
  • Real-world business problem provided by Flipkart

  • Top 48 candidates invited to Flipkart HQ in Bangalore
  • Form teams of 4 and build a working prototype
  • Present live demo to Flipkart leadership panel

Stages of Flipkart GRiD Challenge:Software Development

Step 1: Screening Round

  • There is no coding test in this round.
  • Flipkart evaluates your resume, academic background, and non-academic achievements.
  • Shortlisting is based on your overall profile quality and consistency.
  • Only selected candidates move to the next round.

Step 2: Coding Assessment

  • 90 minute online, proctored test.
  • Contains 3 coding questions of varying difficulty.
  • Topics covered: Data Structures, Algorithms, Arrays, Strings, Graphs, etc.
  • Allowed languages: C, C++, Java, Python.
  • Selection is based on how many test cases your solutions pass and whether your score meets the cutoff.

Step 3: Case Study Based Coding

  • Shortlisted candidates receive a real world tech/business problem from Flipkart.
  • You must build a tool, system, or working solution and submit your code.
  • In some cases, a demo video or brief report may also be required.
  • Evaluation is based on technical depth, solution relevance, and understanding of the problem.

Step 4: National Finals

  • Top 48 candidates are selected and invited to Flipkart’s Bangalore HQ.
  • Flipkart forms teams of 4 from the finalists.
  • Teams must create a working prototype based on their case study solution.
  • Present a live demo to Flipkart’s leadership panel.
  • The top 6 teams (24 candidates) win prizes and are considered for internships or full time roles.

1. Hiring Opportunities:

  • 3rd year students: Eligible for Summer Internships (SDE Intern role).
  • 4th year students: Eligible for Full Time SDE-1 roles or Winter Internships.
  • Offers depend on Round 3 performance and final interview results.

  1. Base Pay: ₹22 LPA
