Let the percentage of chlorine =X

(35 - X)/(X-  40) = 7 / 5  

=> 12X = 455 or

X = 38(approx) so, 

required percentage of chlorine = 38 %

Number of liters of water in 180 liters of the mixture = 25% of 180 = 1/4 of 180 = 45 liters

 Let us Assume that another 'P' liters of water are added to the mixture to make water 30% of the new mixture. So, the total amount of water becomes (45 + P) and the total volume of the mixture becomes (180 + P)

 Thus, (45 + P) = 30% of (180 + P)

Here total parts of milk and water in the solution is 6+2 = 8 parts.

 old mixture contains 6parts of milk and 2 parts of water(6:2).

 To get new mixture containing half milk and half water, add 4parts of water to the old mixture then 6:(2+4) to make the ratio same.

i.e, 4 x 80 = 320 ml.

Let the amount of juice and water in the original mixture '5x' litre and '4x' litre respectively.

According to given data,

5x/4x+10 =8/7

X = 80 /3

Amount of juice = 80 / 3litre.

Quantity of wine in the mixture = 100 - [100 x (10/100) ]= 90 litres.

 After adding water, juice would form 85% of the mixture.

Hence, if quantity of mixture after adding x liters of water, [(85) /100 ]*x = 63 => x = 105.8 

 Hence 105.8 - 100 = 5.8 litres of water must be added.
