Student Interview
ZS Associates conducted an on-campus drive in our college to hire potential candidates. I also registered for the interview process which consisted of three rounds possibly, one is an online aptitude test, followed with two rounds of personal interview with the human resource of the company. First round case based interview. This interview was followed by an HR interview. I had applied for the post of Decision Analytics Associate in the company. I was quite intimidated with the procedure so I researched it about on the PrepInsta website which was recommended by our professors. The material available on the website was quite helpful.
Round 1 – Online Written Test
All the candidates with CGPA>7.5 were eligible for the online test which was conducted by HirePro. Fortunately, I was having 8.0 CGPA, therefore, I was eligible for this test. The test consisted of 80 questions to be done in 120 minutes. It was divided into 4 sections namely Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Attention to Detail, and Quantitative Aptitude. The questions were of moderate to difficult level.
Round 2 – Case Study Interview
The students who were shortlisted on the basis of the marks obtained in the above online written test were only allowed for this round and others were rejected right after the results declared.
In the case study round, I was given case study consisted of a complex problem of Database management. In this round, I was required to analyse data as well as problems which needed to be solved based on the interpretation I got from the provided data. Then one by one each of the member form the panel asked me the logic and procedure followed or used behind the answer of the problems given in the case study. The panel looked on what approach I have followed and used to solve the case. They further asked in detail about the projects and the domains I was having experience. I told them about it, which was Machine Learning and Data Analytics. Few questions about the internship I had done formerly were also asked.
Round 3 – HR and Technical Round
These round tests the overall ability to answer questions asked and your knowledge about the field is checked. Some of the questions asked to me in this round were:
Technical Questions –
- What is a memory leak in C++?
- Briefly explain the concept of Virtual Memory.
- What will happen if a pointer is deleted twice?
- Give an example of call be reference significance.
- Define paging and deadlock.
Personal and HR related questions –
- What do you know about our organization?
- Why should we hire you?
- What qualities would you look for in a candidate if you were in our position?
- Tell us about your extra-curricular activities.
- What are your future goals?
- Do you have any location preferences?
- How familiar are you with the community that we're located in?
- Do you have questions for us?
After 2 weeks approximately, I got an email as well as call regarding my selection in the company. I was finally hired by the firm and was my best day. I was required to join after a month as a trainee in the organization.
