Student Interview
The company organized a recruitment drive in my college in January. They offered three positions, Decision Analytics Associate (DAA), Business Operations Associate (BOA), and Technology Associate (TA) in the drive with posting at Gurgaon/Pune. Students of all the branches were eligible for this drive. More than 500 students applied for these three positions; however, the majority was for DAA and BOA. I also applied for the drive and immediately began my preparing for the same.
Online Written Test
The first round was an online written test, which was conducted by HirePro. PrepInsta Dashboard was an excellent help for the online paper. There were 60 questions in the test and the total time limit was of 75 minutes. There were 4 sections, namely the Quantitative Analysis, Logical and Attention to Detail, English, and Data Interpretation. The list of the candidates selected for the next round was announced by the evening. 88 candidates were shortlisted for DAA, 76 for BOA and 23 for TA.
Face to Face Interview
This interview round was divided into three interview rounds, two technical and 1 HR.
Interview Round 1
The first round was a Case Study round. The interviewer gave me a case study of McDonald’s. I had to study the company’s sales over the past 25 years, and answer the questions as per my understanding. He asked me some key essentialities one should have to start or set up a business. After this he asked me about my academic career, such as what are my career goals, and where do I see myself after five years. Then he gave me some data sufficiency puzzles to solve. He also asked me to explain my final year project. At last, he concluded with some SQL queries, and the interview was over.
Interview Round 2
The interviewer took my CV and asked me to introduce myself. Then he asked me questions based on the case study from round 1. After this, he gave me some possible conditions, such as “You have to start a food truck in your city, just draw the flowchart of your approach for the setup.” Then he asked me some basic questions like, “What does a data analyst do? And why do you want to become one?” Following that I was asked, “if there is a problem in my company and to resolve it I have to take a decision which is not supported by the majority of team, will I stick to my decision or will go with the majority?” At last, he asked me some questions on crypto arithmetic and the interview was over. From this round, only 52 candidates were shortlisted for the final HR interview round, which was to be held the next day in the college premises.
HR Round
The students were required to be present with two updated copies of their resume. The interview process began sharply at 10. The HR began with, “introduce yourself.” After which she asked some of the basic questions, “What do you know about the ZS Associates,” “ Have you applied for any other company as well?”, “ Why should we hire you?” Then she gave me some puzzles and asked me to explain the logic to solve them. Then she asked me about my life, my hobbies, and future plans for M.B.A. or Mtech. Then she asked some more questions to test my business logic. At last, she asked if I have any queries related to work or the company. I said no, smiled, shook my hand and left.
I took a sigh of relief after the results were announced. I was very happy as I was got the job.
