Student Interview
Last month, CGI Technologies- An international IT consulting firm, visited our campus for On-campus recruitment. Since I recently completed my B. tech degree, and I was searching for a Job. Hence, I registered myself for this interview.
As this was my first interview as a fresher, therefore I didn’t want to take any chance. So I interacted with some of my seniors, to get to know their experience. I tried to get an idea on how and from where shall I prepare for the interview, and most of them suggested to solve some last year’s Sample Practice papers for the Written Round.
Eligibility Criteria
- BE/B.Tech(All Streams)
- MCA/MSc (Comp Sci)
- 65% in BE/B.Tech
- 60% in 10th and 12th
Number of Rounds

- Technical and HR interview round.
Round 1 Online Written test:
Written round contained a series of questions. This round was more like a cake walk for me as I already brushed up my English and Quants skills by solving some of the last year’s sample papers. The paper was divided into five sections The Overall paper pattern is mentioned below:

Round 2 Group Discussion Round:
This round was eligible for those students who manage to pass the round 1 that is the online written test. All those students who cleared the first test successfully, were qualified for the Group discussion round.
In this round, the we were again divided into groups, and each group was given a topic. In this round, the students were expected to give reliable and significant opinions. The interviewer judges them on the basis of their confidence, communication skills and leadership. The Interviewer seemed pretty satisfied with my performance and fortunately I managed to clear this round as well.
Round 3 Human Relation (HR) Interview Round:
This was the final part of the selection process, meant for those who have managed to pass the above two rounds. In this round the HR person asked me some basic personal questions: about my family, future plans, my hobbies, my strengths, and weaknesses Etc.
The main logic behind this round was to test elementary knowledge and communication skills. Hence apart from good a technical knowledge, confidence was the key factor to clear this round.
Like the other rounds, this one also went well. The interviewer seemed impressed, as when I walked out, he gave me a warm smile and shook hands with me wishing me good luck.Eventually I received the offer letter within a week, along with the joining letter.
