Student Interview
After finishing my B.Tech, I applied for an on-campus interview at CGI. After registering myself, I received an admit card and the test centre details. The paper was scheduled for April 7, 2019.

So, I started my preparations to brush up my fundamentals. For that, I referred to some of the previous year papers that were available online. These papers gave me a brief idea about the type of questions that were being asked in the exam.
My Flatmate suggested me to refer PrepInsta as the website make available the best study materials for placement preparation. He also told me that CGI Placement process has three rounds:

  1. Online Written test.
  2. Group Discussion.
  3. HR interview.

First Round

Written paper:
The first round was AMCAT written test which had five compulsory section: This was an online test, which followed the below mentioned pattern:

Round 2:

Group Discussion:
Since I cleared the written test successfully, hence I got qualified for the Group discussion round. In this round, we were divided into different groups with 10 candidate each, and were given a topic for discussion. Mostly the topics were related to the common happenings around us. My group got the topic “ The Influence of working women on our culture and the society as a whole”.

In this round, we were being judged for our confidence, general knowledge, and convincing ability. We were also checked for our communication skills. Apparently, I got selected in this round as well.

Round 3:

HR Round
This was the last round of the interview process. I entered the cabin; the interviewer asked me to have a seat in a very polite way. Then he took a glance at my resume. He then started asking me questions related to my personal life like:Tell me something about yourself apart from what is present on the resume.

  1. What was your final year project about? Give a brief idea about it?
  2. What are your future career plans?
  3. Where are you planning to settle down?
  4. What are your salary expectations?

I answered all the questions politely and with full honesty. The interviewer seemed pretty satisfied with my answers, and humbly asked me if I liked to have anything like Tea/Coffee, and I also politely replied with a No. The interview session lasted for about half an hour

After the interview, I was informed that the results would be emailed to me within a week. So, after a week I received a happy email from CGI with the offer letter, and I was selected for the job.
