Flipkart GRiD Syllabus and Test Pattern 2024

Flipkart GRiD is an annual engineering hackathon organized by Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce company. The competition is open to students from all over the world who are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.

 GRiD is a multi-round competition that tests participant’s technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

NOTE :

  • The Software Development Track will have three rounds of elimination to test your technical, analytical, and ideation skills. The top teams will advance to the National Finale, where they will present their solutions to a panel of domain experts from Flipkart.

  • Problem statement according to the domain area of interest.
  • Submit the functional proof of concept
  • The demo video and code has to be submitted too.
Round 3
  •  Solutions submission to a panel of domain expert

Stages of Flipkart GRiD Challenge:Software Development

Level 1: E-Commerce & Tech Quiz

  • All registered teams will be required to take an online quiz.
  • The quiz will be online and will be open for 30 minutes.
  • All members of a team are eligible to participate in the quiz.
  • The team’s score will be calculated based on the average of the marks obtained by the team members.
  • All teams will be taking the quiz simultaneously during the quiz window.
  • Each participant will be ranked based on their accuracy (score) and speed (finish time). In other words, if two teams have the same score, the team that finished earlier will be ranked higher.
  • Participating teams will advance to the next level based on their performance in this assessment.
  • The quiz will cover Programming languages, Data structure and algorithm, E-Commerce Trivia (reference: https://stories.flipkart.com) and Technology Awareness.
  •  

All team member will attempt the Quiz seperately and the final score will be calculated based on the average score of the team.

Level 2: Submission Round

  • Only the shortlisted teams from Level 1 will be eligible to participate in Level 2.
  • Each team will be given a problem statement based on the domain area of interest they selected in Level 1.
  • Teams will only have access to the problem statement that has been allocated to them.
  • Submissions can be made anytime during the challenge window until the deadline for this level.
  • The solution should be a working prototype that solves the problem stated in the problem statement.
  • In this level, teams are expected to submit a functional proof of concept along with a demo video and code submission.
  • Participating teams in this level will advance to the next level based on their performance.

Level 3: The National Finale:

In this round, the top teams  will compete against each other to showcase their solutions to a panel of domain experts from Flipkart. The teams will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Technical merit of the solution
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Presentation skills

  • Top teams who qualify for level 2 will get a chance to be a part of the hiring process for internship and full-time tech roles at Flipkart

How can I apply for Flipkart Grid?

To apply for Flipkart Grid, you must first register for the program. Once you have registered, you will be able to access the online assessment. If you are successful in the online assessment, you will be invited to participate in the coding challenge. If you are successful in the coding challenge, you will be invited to interview with a panel of Flipkart engineers.

What are the rewards and prizes?

A chance to win attractive prizes and be considered for tech internships and full-time roles .

  • Winners will receive equity grants worth INR 1,50,000.
  • First runners-up will receive equity grants worth INR 75,000.
  • Top 50 teams (Level 1 – Quiz) will receive GRiD goodies.

The following are the placement and internship opportunities available at Flipkart GRiD:

Pre-Placement Interview (PPI): PPI is an opportunity for students to get an interview for a software development engineer (SDE) role at Flipkart. The PPI is conducted after the final round of the GRiD challenge.
Internship: Flipkart offers internships to students who have completed the GRiD challenge. The internship is for a period of 3 months and is paid.
