Name: Bhavya Verma
College: VIT, Chennai
Branch: Electronics and Communication Technology
Type of interview: ON-campus Interview
Last Year Virtusa Polaris visited our college campus for on-campus recruitment. I have heard about this company and was excited about the interview. Therefore, I registered my name for it. I interacted with some of my seniors, to get to know about their interview experience. I tried to get an idea on how and from where shall I prepare for the interview and they suggested me to prepare from the PrepInsta’s Sample papers for the Written Round. The criteria for the interview was:
- Maximum 65% in BE/B.TECH
- 60% marks in both 10th and 12th
- BE/B.TECH students
- Students from the computer science field
Number of Rounds
- Written Test
- Group Discussion
- Technical and HR Interview
In this round, I had to appear for the written exam at the specified test center. The written paper was divided into five sections which were:
- Verbal Ability
- Logical Reasoning
- Computer Programming
- Automata Coding
The difficulty level for all the sections was medium. Furthermore, these questions carried no negative marking. This round was easy for me as I prepared through PrepInsta’s previous year sample papers. Most of the questions from PrepInsta’s study material matched exactly in the paper. I cleared the first round and was selected for the GD round.
Group Discussion Round
In this round, all the selected candidates were divided into different groups and were given a topic to speak on. The topic given was related to everyday activities around society. The candidates were expected to give their own opinions and were judged on the basis of their communication skills, leadership quality, convincing power, and flexibility to work with a team. I was successful in influencing the interview community through my skills and cleared the second round also.
Technical and HR Interview Round
This round was the last and the toughest round of the interview process. The candidates who managed to pass the GD round were eligible for the Technical round. The questions asked were related to their final year project and their subject. Some of the technical questions asked to me were:
- Different types of communication?
- What is sampling?
- What is the sampling theorem?
- What are modulation and demodulation?
- Explain FM and AM.
- What is oscillator?
Apart from the technical questions the interviewer also asked me some personal questions like,
- What are my hobbies?
- What are my future plans?
- How will the company be benefitted if they select me as their employee?
- My salary expectations?
- Would I be comfortable in switching the city?
The interviewer was very polite and was quite happy with my performance. I was expecting to get their answer as, yes. And late at night, I got their email, that I was selected for a post in their company and they will soon send me my offer letter.
