How to answer these Questions negative about you ?
My greatest weakness is that I sometimes focus too much on the details of a project and spend too much time analyzing the finer points. I’ve been striving to improve in this area by checking in with myself at regular intervals and giving myself a chance to refocusing on the bigger picture. That way I can still ensure quality without getting so caught up in the details that it affects my productivity or the team’s ability to meet the deadline.”
Possible Answer :-
I work in an academic department at WMU, and every year the department hosts a large event for both students and employers. Employers come to speak to students about the industry they work in and what positions are open in their companies. It was myresponsibility to bring several items from campus to the location of the event, and one of those items was the registration packets for employers. The packets included their nametags, schedules, parking passes, and more. It wasn’t until employers arrived that I realized I forget them, so it was really hectic. I drove back to campus, got the packets, and found every employer who arrived before the packets were there and gave them their packets. I apologized to them for the inconvenience and to my boss as well. Now, I write a list of everything I need to bring to a meeting or an event, so I don’t forget anything. I cross reference my list with what I gathered to double-check my work.
Sometimes I have a hard time letting go of a project. I’m the biggest critic of my own work. I can always find something that needs to be improved or changed. To help myself improve in this area, I give myself deadlines for revisions. This helps ensure that I’m not making changes at the last minute.
An area in which I can improve is delegation. My natural leadership abilities often find me as the “lead” on a group project in classes, and I tend to assign people tasks and help to keep everyone on task. However, I tend to take it upon myself to do too many small pieces that should be split up among my classmates. Once I realized I was doing more work than the other people in my group, I reevaluated what I was doing. I quickly realized that if I distributed the tasks more equally, I could manage the project much more efficiently and actually accomplish more.
While I highly valued my time at my previous company, there are no longer many opportunities for growth that align with my career goals. This position aligns perfectly with my skill set and how I’m looking to advance my career.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you get a backlog in 2nd semester. did you not prepare well ?
I had a backlog in the 2nd semester as long as that backlog has been covered up. The only disadvantage one could think of having a backlog in the 1st year generally is that from 2nd year more of the core concepts in your field are being thought and one is dividing studying time to the backlog as well as the core concepts which may lead to a student understanding neither of the concepts.
What are your weaknesses ?
Weaknesses are tricky to talk about, so you need to be careful when sharing examples of yours. You don’t want to knock yourself out of contention for the job because the interviewer thinks you’re not qualified. You do want your answer to be honest, but as positive as possible.
What is the biggest mistake you have made in your career?
Speaking honestly, I do not believe in mistakes. Said more precisely, I do not dwell much on them, thinking what could have been or should have been, if I made another decision somewhere in the past. At the end of the day, we try our best. We decide according to the information and knowledge we have. Of course our dreams and priorities change as life progresses. But I think it would be stupid to say that it was a mistake that I did not accept some job in the past, or the promotion they offered me in the company. I simply made a decision which I considered best at a moment of making it. We cannot turn back the clock, so it makes no sense to return to the situation…
