Student Interview Experience

Name: Lakshya
College: Xaviers Institute of Engineering, Mumbai
Branch: Computer Science
Type of interview: On-Campus Interview

Student Interview
L&T Infotech organised an On-Campus drive in our college in the last semester. The TPO
(Training and Placement Officer) gave us the eligibility criteria and some links from
Prepinsta to prepare for the drive. The eligibility criteria included:
1) 60% throughout.
2) No current backlogs.
3) No study gap between 10 th and 12 th .
Round 1
There were 4 sections in the first round:
1) Verbal
2) Quants
3) Logical
4) Programming
The programming section had two sub divisions. The first part had questions related to C,
C++ and the other division had questions related to DBMS. Out of the all 4, the Logical
section was slightly tricky, rest all the sections were very simple.
Round 2
In the Group Discussion Round, the interviewers checked the vocabulary, thought process,
and confidence of the candidate. We were divided into groups of 5, and each group was
allotted 10 minutes each. The topic allotted to our group was ‘Acid Attacks’. The scores for
the GD were announced within an hour, and the shortlisted candidates had to assemble in
front of the seminar hall for further rounds. Only 45 students out of 346 students were
selected for the Technical and the HR round.
Round 3
Candidates clearing the Technical round were only eligible for the next round that is the HR
round. For the technical round, we had to carry two copies of our resumes along. The
candidates were called in, in a group of three. There were two interviewers when I went in.
The interviewers asked for our resumes, and to take a seat. They began with general questions, like what was our favourite subject, in engineering, how the preparation for the
final semester was going on, etc. Later, they started asking questions from the particular
subjects we all mentioned. I chose Data Structures (DSA), therefore maximum questions
asked to me were from DSA, such as linked lists, arrays, and trees. The interview went on for
like 30 minutes.
Round 4
This was the final round that is HR round. Me along with 12 more students were shortlisted
for the HR round. This round was just a formality. The HR asked me the obvious HR
questions such as
 Why L&T InfoTech?
 Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
 Why should we hire you?
The HR asked few questions related to my final year project as well. After which we were
were asked to wait outside for the final results.
The results were announced by the end of the day, and me along with 2 other candidates were
selected. I was very happy as I cleared my first interview in the very first attempt.
