Deloitte Interview Questions- Technical Round

There are mainly 5 rounds in the Recruitment Process of Deloitte in which 2 rounds are Technical rounds and other three rounds are Versant Test(English Test), Senior Managerial Round followed by HR round. Sometimes Deloitte Interview panel takes CASE-STUDY round also it totally depends upon interviewer mood so be prepared.

1. -PUZZLE Solving Round- 

• In this section you will asked to solve some analytical puzzles.
• Interviewer from this round is keen to know about your thinking capabilities of how you solve critical problems i.e ANALYTICAL THINKING
• For example you check some questions below

Problem 1: You are blindfolded and 10 coins are place in front of you on table. You are allowed to touch the coins, but can’t tell which way up they are by feel. You are told that there are 5 coins head up, and 5 coins tails up but not which ones are which. How do you make two piles of coins each with the same number of heads up? You can flip the coins any number of times.

Solution:

Make 2 piles with equal number of coins. Now, flip all the coins in one of the pile.

How this will work? lets take an example.

So initially there are 5 heads, so suppose you divide it in 2 piles.

Case:

P1 : H H T T T
P2 : H H H T T

Now when P1 will be flipped
P1 : T T H H H

P1(Heads) = P2(Heads)

Another case:

P1 : H T T T T
P2 : H H H H T

Now when P1 will be flipped
P1 : H H H H T

P1(Heads) = P2(Heads)

Problem 2: You have 3 switches in a room. One of them is for a bulb in next room. You can not see whether the bulb is on or off, until you enter the room. What is the minimum number of times you need to go in to the room to determine which switch corresponds to the bulb in next room.

Solution- 

the answer will be 1.

we have to go to that room only once.

Steps:
First switch on the first switch, keep it on for say 2-3 minutes.
then switch of first switch and on the second switch.
as soon as u on the second switch go to the room.

If you found that the bulb is glowing  that means the second switch corresponds to the room.
if not then touch the bulb if it is warm that means it corresponds to the second switch if not then it corresponds to the third switch.

Problem 3:

There is a box in which distinct numbered balls have been kept. You have to pick two balls randomly from the lot.

If someone is offering you a 2 to 1 odds that the numbers will be relatively prime, for example
If the balls you picked had the numbers 6 and 13, you lose $1.
If the balls you picked had the numbers 5 and 25, you win $2.

Will you accept that bet?

Solution:Yes, you should accept the bet. Simply because the odds of picking two relatively prime numbers are 60%. It is a win-win situation for you if you keep playing.

 2- Technical Round (CS/IT)-

• Here Interviewer will be keen to know what technical knowledge you have gained in your 4 years of college.
• Approx 40% time for C/OOPS/ C++ or Java
• 30% time for Coding questions(Find Coding Dashboard below)
• 20% time Core CS subjects like CN/DBMS/Software Engineering
• 10% time for final year Project based questions

For Non-CS/IT:-

• 50% time for C/OOPS/C++ or Java
• 30% time for Coding Questions(Find Coding Dashboard below)
• 10% time on Project Diagrams, theory, definitions
• 20% time for theory related to subject of your final year project

3-VERSANT ROUND(English Test)- 

• In Deloitte Versant Round Interviewer is mainly interested in your speaking skills.
• Interviewer wants to know your English speaking skills in this round so try to be fluent in english that will you help you very much in Deloitte Versant Round.

In this round Company HR wants to know you what etiquette you have because they want to check if you are good and will be able to cope up with the company and in this round HR also discusses one of the favourite part. Senior Managerial Round is one form of the HR Round only to discuss some little things only.
