Quantifiers are used to quantify information, in terms of unknown quantities but still giving information on the limited extent of the quantity of it.

Few – a few  

  • Few is a quantifier used with plural countable nouns.
  • Without the article “a” few emphasize a small number of something.

 A lot of/ lots of

We can use A lot and Lots of with both countable and uncountable nouns. There is a thin liner difference which is hardly visible.

  • Ex: I have watched lots of Bollywood movies.
  • I have been facing a lot of trouble.

 

Quantifiers usage

Many and Much

When we are not able to give any exact number, in that situation we use many.

  • Ex: There were many patients in the hospital.

we use much with uncountable nouns.

Ex: There isn’t much space.
